Dumain in its annual rankings for “Leading Lawyers” in plaintiffs’ securities litigation. Mr. Dumain has been listed in the Chambers USA 2010, 2011, 2012 and 2013 editions as a leading plaintiffs’ securities litigator in New York.
This year, Chambers USA noted that clients praise Mr. Dumain for being "[v]ery thorough and very bright" and is well respected for his representation of plaintiffs in a variety of complex securities litigation. Securities Litigation, MDL 1335 (D.N.H.)and In re Nortel Networks Corporation Securities Litigation, No. 01-1855 (S.D.N.Y.)securities litigation recovering $3.2 billion and $1 billion for investors respectively. Mr. Dumain also served as lead counsel in the securities class actions against Biovail, which is the third highest recoveries ever in cases involving Canadian companies and settled for over $138 million in cash. Mr. Dumain also successfully represented the City of San Jose, California against 13 of the City’s broker-dealers and its outside accountants in connection with major losses in unauthorized bond trading.
