Nicole Duckett, Senior Counsel in Milberg’s Los Angeles office, has been selected as one of 12 attorneys to serve as Lawyer Representatives for the Central District of California to the Ninth Circuit Judicial Conference.

Each year the District Court chooses approximately 12 attorneys to serve as Lawyer Representatives for the Annual Judicial Conference of all the active judges (Circuit/ District/ Magistrate/ Bankruptcy) within the Ninth Circuit.  The Judicial Conference meets each summer to consider the business of the courts and to advise means of improving the administration of justice within the Ninth Circuit.

The Central District has 36 Lawyer Representatives who serve three-year terms and are invited to join certain committees.  The representatives are also expected to participate in elections, participate and vote during the resolutions process, and serve as facilitators and discussion leaders in conferences and other events.

The candidates are screened by a committee of local bar association presidents who narrowed the pool down to 38 candidates to forward to the Court for the Judges to make the final selection of the 12 Lawyer Representatives.
